IRIS – Who we are

The Indigenous and Remote Eye Health Service (IRIS) is funded by the Australian Government to deliver more than 500 cataract surgeries for remote, rural and indigenous Australians during an intensive 18 month delivery period (reaching completion on 30 June 2020).
IRIS is focused on real patient outcomes, achieved through the facilitation of eye clinics and surgical services on-site in remote and rural communities across Australia.
Our success isn’t measured by how many services we deliver or the number of locations we visit, but by how many patients we can treat with surgical intervention to restore vision.
